I Hate My Job! Because…
Most may never actually admit it, but so many women HATE their jobs. If you are counting the days until the weekend, that is a problem.
Actually, a better word is DISSATISFIED with their jobs.
- Are you one of those Women?
- Have you spent years working for a company with little or no raises, promotions, or recognition?
- If you were promoted, were you still not satisfied with your new position after a few months?
- Maybe even weeks?
- Even though you have a job, are you still experiencing challenges with money?
- Are you recognizing that you’re getting older, not accomplishing much, and finding that you’re not liking it?
The days become difficult and challenging when you are employed in a position you are dissatisfied with. So many women end up settling for jobs they dislike because they believe there are no other options.
Or they may end up in positions they really don’t want because they need or desire more money, but end up hating what they’re doing. Instead of saying I Hate My Job, we complain about small stuff so we don’t have to deal with our real feelings.
Tips for learning to love or change your job:
1. First, figure out WHY you are dissatisfied with your current job.
- Are there internal shifts you can make within yourself to make it better or is there something wrong in the environment? Sometimes we find out that we work for a company whose environment is hostile towards its employees or the integrity is less than we thought.
- Do a little soul-searching and be honest with yourself so that you can avoid repeating the same mistake again at another job/company.
There are generally 3 reasons why people get stuck in jobs they hate:
a. Their parents pushed them in a certain direction.
b. They didn’t know what they wanted to do.
c. Or they were too afraid to go after what they really wanted. So in order to get unstuck, you have to get clear about what you want.
2. Figure out what you LOVE to do.
- Whether you’re doing it now (probably on the side) or you’ve done it in the past. You may have more than one; write them all down. Did you get paid for what you were doing?
- Ask yourself if you deserve better. Do you believe you DESERVE BETTER? A Better Job, Better Money, a Better Life?
- Sometimes, we stay at jobs we are dissatisfied with because it seems easier than looking for a new one. Or we look for jobs that we think are easier to get even though after a few years we find ourselves back where we started.
3. Are you blaming others for your choices?
- See if you can figure out if you are LIVING IN THE PAST by BLAMING others for why YOU have made certain CHOICES. It’s easy to blame others for what we are experiencing at our jobs, but we are responsible for our behavior and the choices we make.
4. Examine the FACTS and honestly examine your behavior.
- It may be that the reason things are so “bad” at your job is that you need to review your behavior or attitude. Maybe once you make an effort to do that, things at work will shift.
- If this is not the case, then leaving may be your only answer.
- Once you know what you truly want to do, begin seeking a job or career that will fit around that or CREATE one by starting your own business!
5. Take your time while making your decision and avoid acting hastily.
- If you have to, try to take some time off so that you can think about what’s in your head and heart. Also, figure out what’s your end game, promotions, money, exposure, etc.
- If not you’ll get a new job in about a year, and you’ll be saying “I Hate My Job” again.
Life is full of opportunities to KNOW yourself better and to experience life on many levels. If you are not happy with where your life is RIGHT NOW, ONLY YOU have the POWER to CHANGE IT. There is no complaining, only changing. Whether that means changing jobs or changing something about yourself is up to you.

My hopes are that this workbook will help you build a relationship with yourself. Once you know who you are and figure out what you REALLY want. We are programmed from childhood by the views of others so, therefore, you may not know your own thoughts.
Remember, if you like something, in the beginning, doesn’t mean you are going to like it in the end, humans can become bored with something that we once liked. Our bodies change every seven years so maybe that is also true with what like to do. The world is full of opportunities but you have to pay attention to see them.
