Just Because You’ve Known Them Forever Doesn’t Mean They Are Real Friends
Have 3 Words for you:
Perception, Perception, Perception
They may have a certain Perception about you that you are unaware of; which may differ from the way you see yourself.
Your “friends” will treat based on the way they see you.
Ways your friends can perceive you:
- As a giver – you give them more than yourself
- As a spender – they only invite you to the events that require a gift
- As a pushover – they ask you to do things that don’t ask others to do
- As the unattractive girl – they like hanging with you because you make them look better
- As the quiet girl – they like hanging with you because you let them shine
- As the poor girl – they feel sorry for you that’s why they let you hang around them
The problem with allowing others to treat you this way, it lowers your self-esteem, and you feel it even though you won’t admit it.
7 Signs You Need New Friends:
- They forget to invite you to parties. The excuse is they thought so and so-called you, or I called but you didn’t answer the phone.
- They think all the guys that like you are cute and wonder why they pick you over them.
- They only call you when they need something from you.
- They don’t care about your life, it’s all about them.
- They borrow things from you and never return them which includes money.
- They are always causing a scene in public (drunk, arguing, fighting).
- They are always complaining about their life or they are so negative and make mean comments about you.
I know change is hard but if you are growing and changing, you will need New Friends that represent who you are becoming not who you were.
These are just things to consider because you deserve to have GREAT Friends who respect you, appreciate you, and love you.
Your self-esteem is important to protect it from others who can’t see how Wonderful you are just the way you are!
